Images, video, audio
JPEG, PNG, GIF, MP4, AAC, AMR — uploaded once, transcoded per carrier. Animated GIFs preserved on capable handsets, first frame extracted as fallback.
Send images, GIFs, short video, audio clips, vCards or PDFs to mobile handsets in 80+ countries — and fall back to a clean SMS link where MMS isn't supported.

What you can send
BroadNet transcodes each payload to the carrier's specific limit so you upload once and let us worry about MIME negotiation.
Carrier-published ceiling for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Rogers.
Per-country limits managed automatically; payloads transcoded to fit.
Written into your contract. Where a handset can't take MMS, we auto-fall back to SMS + branded link.
Native MMS where supported; clean SMS-plus-link everywhere else.
The transcode pipeline rescales per-operator. Capability lookup catches non-MMS handsets and ships an SMS with a branded hosted page instead — same DLR schema, same dashboard.
JPEG, PNG, MP4, PDF, vCard up to 5MB. Transcode pipeline rescales to operator-safe limits automatically.
Per-operator size/codec rules applied — H.264 baseline for video, JPEG for images, AMR for audio. Original asset preserved for SMS-fallback hosted page.
Handset capability lookup. If MMS-capable: ship native. If not: send SMS with a short URL to a branded hosted landing page rendering the media.
Direct MMSC bind for native MMS; SMSC bind for SMS-fallback. Same DLR schema across both legs so your app doesn't branch on transport.
DLR plus (on fallback) hosted-page view event stream to your webhook. View event includes country, device, time-to-open.

Capabilities
JPEG, PNG, GIF, MP4, AAC, AMR — uploaded once, transcoded per carrier. Animated GIFs preserved on capable handsets, first frame extracted as fallback.
Push a contact card straight into the recipient's address book — name, phone, email, address, even a logo. Far better than typing it out.
Send receipts, invoices, boarding passes, lab results. Documents are scanned for PHI and PII at rest unless you opt into zero-retention mode.
We test each carrier's actual ceiling weekly. If they tighten from 5 MB to 3.5 MB overnight, your campaign keeps delivering — at the new limit.
Where the destination handset can't receive MMS, we send a clean SMS with a branded short link to the asset — no broken experiences.
DLR for delivery on every leg; read receipts where the carrier surfaces them — primarily US and Canada.
Use cases
A picture of the actual product converts better than any 160-character description ever could.
Branded PDF receipts straight into the conversation, no email attachment, no separate app.
Embed a check-in QR directly in the reminder — no print-out, no portal login, no link to click.
Concert, flight, match — deliver the ticket as an image with a scannable barcode and the date pinned in the caption.
Seasonal collections, restock alerts, abandoned-cart recovery — visual MMS outperforms plain SMS by 4–6× on CTR.
One call, every carrier
Point at a URL. We pull, scan, transcode for the destination carrier, and deliver. You get a delivery receipt back exactly the way SMS works.
# Send an MMS to a recipient list (multipart/form-data)

# 200 OK → { "status", "bulkSessionId", "credits",
# "deductcredits", "bulkListInfo": { "total", "validCount", … } }Country coverage
Native MMS is published by some operators and not others. Where it isn't, we automatically deliver a plain SMS with a branded short link to the asset — same call, same DLR, same audit log.
Full country coveragePricing
MMS is billed per message with a small surcharge for payloads over 600 KB. Fallback-to-SMS reverts to the standard SMS rate automatically. Volume discounts from the first hundred thousand.
Compliance
Opt-in capture, STOP enforcement and sender-ID approval apply identically to MMS. Plus we screen every payload for malicious content and copyright watermarks before transmission.
Per-channel consent records, exportable in CSV or JSON for audits and regulator requests.
Every image scanned for prohibited content classes; PDFs scanned for embedded payloads.
Pre-approved alphanumeric sender IDs and branded shortcodes for the markets that require them.
TDRA, CST, NTRA, TCR, Ofcom — registered where required, rate-limited where regulated.
Images (JPEG, PNG, GIF), video (MP4 H.264 baseline + AAC), audio (AMR, MP3, AAC), documents (PDF), vCards (VCF). Hard cap 5MB at submit; operator caps are usually 300KB–1.2MB and our transcoder rescales automatically. Subject line up to 40 chars where the operator supports it.
Capability lookup runs at submit time. If the recipient handset can't render MMS (older feature phone, iPhone where carrier MMS is off, RCS-only profile), we ship an SMS with a short URL pointing to a branded hosted landing page that renders your image, video, or document. Same DLR webhook, but with channel: "mms_fallback_sms" so you know what shipped.
MMS bills per message, at a higher rate than SMS that varies by destination and media tier. When MMS isn't supported, the SMS-fallback leg bills at the standard SMS rate plus a small per-render fee for the hosted page. Sustained high volume qualifies for enterprise rates — request a quote for exact per-destination pricing.
Native MMS is live in UAE (Etisalat, du), KSA (STC, Mobily, Zain), Egypt (Vodafone, Orange), Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain. Most other MENA and South Asian markets default to SMS-fallback because operator MMS pricing makes native uneconomic. Coverage matrix in the dashboard updates monthly.
Yes — the transcode pipeline supports template variables in images and PDFs. You upload the template once with {{recipient_name}} or {{barcode}} placeholders, the engine renders a per-recipient image at submit time, and the result is cached for 24 hours. Useful for personalised vouchers, boarding passes, and certificates.
Bring your own short domain (CNAME setup), upload your logo and accent colour, optionally a custom HTML template. The page renders inline media, includes an 'Open in app' deep-link if you provide one, and supports right-to-left for Arabic. View events ship to your webhook in real time.
MMS runs on the platform's 99.99% uptime SLA. Delivery itself depends on the destination carrier and on whether the handset supports MMS — where it doesn't, the message falls back to SMS with a branded link. Every leg returns a delivery receipt, SLA misses are credited per your contract, and we publish a postmortem for every sev-1.
Yes — content rules per regulator are enforced platform-side (no UAE TDRA promotional content during quiet hours, etc.), DLRs are retained 12 months on standard and 7 years on enterprise, and the hosted-page render produces a tamper-evident log entry. PDF statements and account-summary images are common use cases for our banking customers.
