Everything worth knowing, nothing that isn't.
Register and match your brand
Most regulated markets require pre-registration, and generic strings like INFO or ALERT are commonly rejected because they cannot be tied to a brand. Use your actual brand name so verification passes and customers recognize you. See /answers/how-to-register-sender-id.
Classify transactional vs promotional
Sending promotional content under a transactional sender ID can get the ID suspended, often within hours. Separate the two and register each correctly. See /answers/sms-compliance-checklist.
Be consistent
Reusing the same sender ID for the same purpose trains recipients to trust it and raises response rates, while rotating random IDs looks like spam or fraud. See /answers/what-is-verified-sender.
Guard against spoofing
Because the SMS from-field is easy to fake, registration and, on voice, frameworks like STIR/SHAKEN are how networks separate legitimate brands from impersonators — another reason to register and monitor your IDs. See /answers/what-is-sender-id-spoofing.
