Everything worth knowing, nothing that isn't.
How it works
The platform allocates a temporary virtual number and bridges calls and messages between the two parties through it. When the transaction ends, the mapping is released, so the number can't be used to contact either person later.
Where it's used
Ride-hailing and delivery (rider–driver contact), online marketplaces (buyer–seller), field services, and telehealth — anywhere two strangers must communicate for a transaction without exchanging personal numbers.
Privacy and platform control
Masking prevents off-platform contact and harassment, reduces the personal data you expose, and supports data-protection compliance by minimizing shared PII. See /answers/gdpr-for-messaging.
Voice and SMS masking
Masking covers both voice calls and text so the entire interaction stays anonymized and, where needed, recorded for dispute resolution. See /products/voice and /products/two-way-sms.
