About the role
You'll own the routing core at the heart of BroadNet's A2P and P2P platforms — the system that picks a route, signs the message, hands it to an MNO bind, and watches the DLR all the way home. We process more than 300 million messages a day across 1,000+ direct operator connections; the system has to be right, and it has to be fast.
What you'll work on
- Routing logic. Multi-LCR cost matrices, anti-fraud guardrails, sender-ID policy enforcement, regulatory filters by country.
- SMPP bind orchestration. Pool management, bind health, failover, throughput shaping per partner.
- DLR pipelines. Reconciliation, replay, partner-side anomaly detection.
- Observability. Real metrics, real traces, real on-call. Latency budgets we actually defend.
The team
A four-person backend pod that owns the routing layer end-to-end. You'll pair with two senior engineers, our principal architect, and the SRE lead. The team has shipped four production rewrites in the last decade and not a single major outage.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building production Go services under real load.
- Deep comfort with PostgreSQL — query plans, indexing, replication, the works.
- Experience with at least one of: SMPP, Diameter, SS7, SIP. (You don't need all four — but you've shipped something on the wire.)
- A track record of carrying the pager for systems you've built.
- Strong written English. Most decisions are made in long-form async docs.
Nice to have
- Telecom background (operator side, SMSC vendor, signaling firewall vendor).
- Kafka or NATS in production.
- Open-source contributions we can read.
- Arabic, French, or both — useful for partner calls across the region.
Real human review within 24 hours. Five-step process. No ghosting.
