What is a DNC (Do Not Call) list?

Last reviewed 1 min readReviewed by BroadNet engineering
Quick answer

A DNC (Do Not Call) list — also called Do Not Disturb (DND) in some markets — is a register of phone numbers whose owners have opted out of marketing calls or messages. Many regulators run national DNC/DND registries, and scrubbing your list against them before a campaign is a legal requirement in most markets. Honouring STOP/opt-out keywords is the SMS equivalent. See /answers/what-is-p2a-sms and /answers/gdpr-for-messaging.
