Everything worth knowing, nothing that isn't.
What TRC enforces
Sender-ID pre-registration. Consent requirements for marketing messages. Operators (Zain, Orange, Umniah) enforce both in their firewalls. Non-compliant marketing sends are dropped and repeated violations trigger sender-ID suspension across all three operators simultaneously.
The Arabic-first preference
Jordan is a strongly Arabic-preferring market for consumer messaging. Arabic sender IDs perform meaningfully better than transliterated Latin. Both are supported; mixed is not.
Where Jordan differs from MENA peers
Jordan does not require an in-country entity to register sender IDs — foreign brands can register through a partnered licensed aggregator with no local CR. The trade-off: you must designate a local point of contact for regulatory correspondence. BroadNet provides this point of contact as part of the registration service.
Typical costs end-to-end
Sender-ID registration: JOD 50-100 one-time + JOD 30-60/year per operator. SMS unit pricing: USD 0.03-0.05 depending on volume. End-to-end for a typical mid-size brand: under USD 1,000 setup, under USD 0.05 per message at modest volume. Cheap and well-governed compared to many MENA markets.
