obileValidate is a phone-number and e-mail checks API from BroadNet, now in private preview at mobilevalidate.com. One request tells you a number's carrier and line type, whether it is registered on messaging apps such as Telegram, Viber or RCS, and whether an e-mail mailbox exists at a major webmail provider. Every check answers registered, not registered or unknown, with a timestamp, and you pay only when the answer is conclusive. It never contacts the person and never reveals who is behind a number.
MobileValidate is in private preview: access is by request, and prices shown during the preview may change before public launch. This post describes the service as documented on mobilevalidate.com on 27 September 2026.
Key takeaways
- MobileValidate is a BroadNet brand with its own site, API and documentation at mobilevalidate.com, in private preview.
- It offers 40 live checks: carrier and line type, messaging-app registration, e-mail mailbox checks and account checks on online services. Spam reputation is limited access, and live network status (HLR) is coming soon.
- You pay per check, only for conclusive answers. Unknown, unsupported country, timeout, invalid and duplicate results are free, and so are cache hits and test keys.
- Checks never send a message, call or e-mail, and never return names, photos, profiles or locations.
- Developers get a REST API, Node.js and Python SDKs, a CLI and an MCP server for AI agents.
- It is built for fraud prevention and for customers who agreed to hear from you; its acceptable-use policy prohibits unsolicited messaging, enumeration and tracking people.
What is MobileValidate?
MobileValidate answers questions about a phone number or e-mail address before you spend money or trust on it. Its tagline is "Know before you send." Each check is one question about one identifier: what kind of line is this, which network is it on, is it registered on a given messaging app, does this mailbox exist. The answer is registered, not registered or unknown, with a confidence level and a checked_at time, so your code can branch on it.
It sits next to BroadNet's messaging products rather than inside them. BroadNet delivers the message over A2P SMS, WhatsApp Business, RCS and voice; MobileValidate helps you decide whether, where and how to send it. MobileValidate lists its intended users as SMS and messaging platforms, sign-up and one-time-passcode flows, fraud and trust-and-safety teams, contact centres and lead-generation businesses.
What does MobileValidate check?
The service lists 40 live checks: 22 run in real time and in bulk, and 18 run in bulk jobs only. These are the ones most relevant to messaging teams:
| Check | What it tells you | Modes |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier and line type (beta) | Line type (mobile, fixed line, VoIP, toll-free and others), current carrier and, for a ported number, the original carrier | Real time and bulk |
| Telegram, Viber, Zalo | Whether the number is registered on the app | Real time and bulk |
| Signal, iMessage, RCS, LINE, Botim | Whether the number is registered on the app; RCS also reports the handset platform when available | Bulk only |
| E-mail mailbox | Whether a mailbox exists at a major webmail provider, without sending mail | Real time and bulk |
| Spam reputation | Risk level and reasons for US, Canadian and German numbers; approved customers only | Limited access |
| Live network status (HLR) | Coming soon; not available yet | — |
The full catalogue, with every messaging app and online service it covers, is on the MobileValidate services page. MobileValidate is an independent service, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by the platforms it checks; their names are used only to describe what a check covers.
Two limits are worth knowing. E-mail checks cover major webmail providers only: company and custom domains return unknown and are not charged. And MobileValidate does not offer SIM-swap checks, subscriber location or demographics. For live network status today, BroadNet's HLR Lookup queries the home network directly.
How does it work for developers?
MobileValidate is a REST API at https://api.mobilevalidate.com/v1 with Bearer authentication and an OpenAPI description. A real-time lookup, POST /v1/lookup, takes up to 100 phone numbers and e-mail addresses and up to 20 checks per request. It waits up to 10 seconds by default (30 at most) and returns 202 with a poll URL for answers that are still pending.
- Bulk jobs take up to 50,000 numbers or addresses in JSON or CSV. A free estimate returns the maximum cost first, and results download as CSV or NDJSON.
- Webhooks report finished lookups and jobs, signed with the Standard Webhooks scheme, and an Idempotency-Key header makes retries safe.
- SDKs for Node.js/TypeScript (npm package mobilevalidate) and Python (mobilevalidate-sdk), plus a command-line tool.
- An MCP server, hosted at https://mcp.mobilevalidate.com/mcp or run locally with npx -y @mobilevalidate/mcp, lets AI agents run checks with scoped, spend-capped agent keys; live keys are rejected.
- Test keys answer documented test numbers such as +447700900001 with fixed data and are never billed.
curl https://api.mobilevalidate.com/v1/lookup \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $MOBILEVALIDATE_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"numbers": ["+447700900001"], "checks": ["carrier", "telegram"]}'Start with the quickstart and the MCP guide on mobilevalidate.com. BroadNet's own messaging API has a separate MCP server for SMS and WhatsApp.
How is MobileValidate billed?
You pay per check, and only when the check gives a conclusive answer. Inconclusive results (unknown, unsupported country, timeout, invalid, duplicate) are not charged, cache hits and test keys are free, and numbers or addresses on the opt-out list are never checked or billed. Real-time checks cost more than bulk checks.
Accounts run on a prepaid USD balance. Before checking, the API reserves the maximum possible cost of the request; conclusive answers are then settled and the rest is released. A max_cost limit and free job estimates keep spend predictable. Current rates are on the MobileValidate pricing page; we do not repeat them here because preview prices may change.
How does it handle personal data?
Phone numbers and e-mail addresses are personal data, and MobileValidate's security and data-handling page describes these controls:
- Identifiers are encrypted when stored, masked in logs, screens and downloads, and never put in URLs.
- Real-time lookups are kept for 7 days and bulk jobs for 30 days by default (1 day to 24 months per account); a finished job can be deleted at any time.
- Each account has its own cache: a result obtained for one customer is never served to another.
- Anyone can object to being checked through a public opt-out form; suppressed identifiers are never checked.
- The site uses no analytics or advertising cookies.
MobileValidate is operated by BroadNet and covered by BroadNet's ISO certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 27018, ISO 9001 and ISO 22301) and data-protection agreement (DPA). Certificate copies and audit reports are available under NDA on request from the BroadNet Trust Center.
What is it for, and what is it not for?
MobileValidate's acceptable-use policy allows checks for fraud prevention (sign-up and one-time-passcode screening), deliverability and channel selection for contacts who opted in, list hygiene before transactional or consented messaging, lead verification and call screening. It prohibits unsolicited messages or calls, enumerating number ranges or generated e-mail lists, scraping or reselling results, stalking, monitoring, locating or profiling people, and eligibility decisions such as credit, employment, housing or insurance.
Checks answer yes, no or unknown plus defined fields. They never return the name, photo, profile or username behind a number or address, and they never send the person a message, call or e-mail. Your own legal basis still applies: confirm your obligations under the data-protection law of each market you serve.
How does MobileValidate fit with BroadNet?
| Goal | MobileValidate step | BroadNet step |
|---|---|---|
| Protect sign-up and OTP flows | Check line type and carrier before sending a code | Send the code with the OTP API or MyOTP.App, with fallback between channels |
| Reach opted-in customers on a channel they use | Check Telegram, Viber or RCS registration | Send and fall back with the Omnichannel API |
| Clean a consented list before a campaign | Remove fixed-line, invalid and duplicate numbers in a bulk job | Send with bulk SMS |
| Know whether a line is reachable now | Carrier and line type (live network status coming soon) | HLR Lookup for live network status |
The two sites stay separate: MobileValidate has its own account, keys and billing at mobilevalidate.com, and BroadNet messaging runs on your BroadNet account. The MobileValidate product page on broadnet.me summarises the service and links to both.
How do you get access?
Request access on mobilevalidate.com with your company, use case and expected volume; the team then sets up test and live keys. You can try the API before that with the test keys and test numbers in the documentation.
Frequently asked questions
What is MobileValidate?
A phone-number and e-mail checks API. One request checks a number's carrier and line type, whether it is registered on messaging apps and online services, and whether an e-mail mailbox exists, with a registered, not registered or unknown answer for each check.
Who operates MobileValidate?
MobileValidate is a BroadNet brand. It has its own website, documentation and accounts at mobilevalidate.com.
Is MobileValidate available to everyone?
Not yet. It is in private preview: you request access with your use case and expected volume, and the team sets up your keys.
Does a check contact the person?
No. A check never sends a message, call or e-mail and never opens a mailbox.
Can MobileValidate tell me who owns a number?
No. It does not do reverse lookups: checks never return names, photos, profiles or locations.
Do I pay for unknown results?
No. You pay only for conclusive answers; unknown, unsupported country, timeout, invalid and duplicate results are free, as are cache hits and test keys.
Does MobileValidate do HLR lookups?
Live network status (HLR) is coming soon. Today the carrier lookup returns line type and carrier, and BroadNet HLR Lookup gives live network status.
Is there an MCP server for AI agents?
Yes. MobileValidate runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.mobilevalidate.com/mcp and a local package, used with scoped, spend-capped agent keys or test keys.
